Amazon hires Tesco vet to run its stores

Amazon.com has hired Tony Hoggett, currently chief strategy and innovation director at Tesco, to run its physical stores beginning next January. Mr. Hoggett, who began working collecting shopping carts at Tesco over 31 years ago, will be senior vice president of physical stores at Amazon and report directly to Dave Clark, chief executive officer, worldwide consumer.
