The investment firm, Comvest Group, which purchased the Haggen grocery chain in 2011, saw fit to close 12 stores in efforts to turn the company around. Now the concern is expanding the chain from 18 to 164 locations with the pickup of stores put up for sale as a result of the Albertsons/Safeway merger.
