Trump administration reportedly looking at payroll tax cuts and tariff rollbacks

While President Trump has not wavered in his insistence that the U.S. economy is strong, a NY Times article cites inside sources at the White House who say his advisors are working on plans to propose a cut in payroll taxes meant to free more consumer dollars to stimulate the economy. Such a move would require the approval of Congress. It is also possible, though unlikely, says the article, that the administration may scale back some of the tariffs it has imposed on Chinese goods in order to quell fears of a recession.
