Mattress Firm, the largest operator of mattress stores in the U.S. with 3,300 locations, is struggling to stay afloat following an accounting scandal at its parent company, Steinhoff International. Serta Simmons, the largest supplier of mattresses to Mattress Firm, is said to be actively exploring a bid for the retailer.
