Retail sales growth slowed in August

U.S. retail sales in August increased 0.1 percent, below the 0.4 percent expected by economists polled by The Wall Street Journal. On a positive note, retail sales from July were revised upward to 0.7 percent compared to the 0.5 percent increase initially reported.
