Will Safeway Sell Dominick’s in Pieces?

A piece in Jim Kirk’s column in Friday’s Chicago Tribune said that Safeway
is considering splitting the Dominick’s up to sell to multiple buyers. “One
scenario has Eden Prairie, Minn.-based SuperValu and Pewaukee, Wis.-based Roundy’s
as the two main chains interested in Dominick’s, though at least one source
said Royal Ahold might still be in the picture.”


Moderator’s Comment: What do you see as the most likely
outcome of a Dominick’s sale?


We think its safe to count Ahold out of the Dominick’s
