Wal-Mart Plans to Open Its First California Supercenters

The Wall Street Journal reports that Wal-Mart Stores Inc. plans to open its first 40 Supercenters in California within the next four to six years. Each Supercenter will create jobs for between 200 and 600 associates. Seventy percent of these positions will be full-time.

In addition to its 125 California stores, Wal-Mart operates 29 Sam’s Clubs and three distribution centers (including an import center) in the state, employing 50,000 people.
