Target stores and General Mills unveiled a new line of General Mills loungewear featuring four well-known breakfast cereals: Lucky Charms, Cheerios, Cocoa Puffs and Trix, reports BrandWeek.com.

The cereal-themed clothes will be available exclusively in Target stores nationwide for a limited time. The apparel will be located in a special area near the main entrance of most Target stores, displayed with its matching box of popular cereal.

Favorite cereal icons will appear on men’s and women’s T-shirts and boxer shorts, unisex lounge pants, women’s sleep shirts, girls’ daywear, girls’ tank and boxer sleep sets and boys’ boxer shorts. Prices range from $4.99 to $14.99. Most items will be available in each of the four cereal styles.

Moderator Comment: What do you think of Target’s exclusive
apparel deal with General Mills?

Target demonstrates, again, that it gets it. Having the
apparel in a special display area with the cereal near the main entrance is
Merchandising 101 but something many others do not seem to get.

Kmart should pay close attention to this. It has a cereal
company in its home state of Michigan with popular brand characters too, if
memory serves. [George
