Supervalu to Leave Denver

By George Anderson

Supervalu has decided to exit the Denver market, selling off its distribution center and nine retail store locations, reports Reuters.

“Neither our retail nor our distribution operations in Denver generated sufficient volume or growth prospects to justify a continued capital investment,” said Jeff Noddle, chairman
and chief executive officer, Supervalu.

Kroger has indicated it will buy the distribution warehouse and four Cub Food retail stores from Supervalu.
