Sony Designs Product Line for Target

Mar 28, 2002

Sony Corp. will design an exclusive product line for Target Stores and that will be unveiled this spring, reports The Wall Street Journal. Sony Liv will consist of nine products – including CD players, alarm clocks, radios and a universal remote – all priced under $150. A Target spokesman said the products are aimed at women.

Target said the agreement marks the first time the Japanese electronics maker has produced a product line exclusively for a single retailer.

deal? Should retailers look to expand exclusive deal programs with consumer
product manufacturers?
