Online Surpasses Catalog at J. Crew

For the first time, J. Crew’s Web sales eclipsed its catalog sales, reports the New York Times. Its February sales have crossed a threshold that few apparel and general merchandise catalog businesses have reached.

The catalog retailer now gets the bulk of its sales from a growing chain of stores – $26 million in February. But the $13.1 million worth of goods the company sold online surpassed catalog sales of $10.7 million.
