Late Night with Ronald McDonald

By George Anderson

The introduction of premium salads has sparked consumer interest and helped boost sales. Now, McDonald’s is expanding store hours in a further attempt to build business, reports Reuters.

Mike Roberts, head of McDonald’s US business told analysts, “We think it’s a huge opportunity for us. We’re booking significant sales increases as part of it.”

Second quarter same store sales at McDonald’s were up just under five points, making for the company’s best quarter since the early nineties. McDonald’s reported its quarterly profit fell five percent during the same period due to menu changes and moves it is making to improve service.

turnaround moves so far? What would you do if you were running the company?

Longer hours and premium salads with Newman’s Own dressing
are signs of progress at Mickey D’s. Now, if only you could get McGriddles any
time of day, that would be real progress.
