Hershey Goes Sugar-Free for $40 Million

Hershey Foods announced yesterday it is rolling out new sugar-free chocolates under its Hershey’s and Reese’s brand names. Product is slated to begin shipping this month.


Judy Hogarth, a Hershey spokeswoman, told Reuters, “The product is being marketed to all people who are concerned about their sugar intake, especially to people with diabetes and those on a low carbohydrate diet.”


Hershey projects first year sales of $40 million for its Reese’s Sugar Free Peanut Butter Cups Miniatures, Hershey’s Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Candy, Hershey’s Sugar Free Chocolate Candy with Almonds and Hershey’s Sugar Free Chocolate Candy.
