Eminem Gets Grammy and Macy’s Deal

By George Anderson

Eminem won a Grammy yesterday for Best Rap Album for his work on “The Eminem Show.”

On Friday, the rapper made news when Macy’s announced it would begin selling Eminem’s Shady Ltd. clothing at stores in April.

Nesi Fashion Brands owns and produces the Shady Ltd. line that includes hooded sweatshirts, t-shirts, velour jogging suits and baggy jeans with prices ranging from $25 to $100.

Michael Belluomo, spokesman, Nesi Fashion Brands told Reuters, “Logic dictates this will be a very big business.”

In addition to his recording career, Eminem scored a hit with the film “8 Mile”. The film has grossed over $100 million in theaters in the U.S.

Moderator’s Comment: Is selling Eminem’s clothes line
a smart business move for Macy’s?

Eminem is a hot commodity these days. His work has also
earned him a reputation, deservedly, for being misogynistic and homophobic.
Let the boycotting begin. [George
