Dunkin’ Donuts in Home Depot

Three Home Depot stores soon will have a full-serve Dunkin’ Donuts within their doors, part of a test program, according to the companies.

“We did some survey research and found that a lot of professional builders and contractors visit our stores, particularly in the early hours, to collect materials,” John Simley, a spokesman for Atlanta-based Home Depot, says. “On their way to the work site, they stop off at a Dunkin’ Donuts for coffee, bagels and doughnuts for their crews, so this just makes it a little more convenient for them.”

The first Home Depot-Dunkin’ Donuts store will open in Manchester, Conn., with other stores in South Attleboro, Mass., and South Plainfield, N.J., opening by the end of the year, according to Mr. Simley.

Moderator Comment: Will Dunkin’ Donuts’ stores become a common site in Home Depot locations?

Our hats go off to Home Depot. The DIY retailer has taken
its hits (here and elsewhere) for a seeming lack of consumer focus but this
move is dead on. [George
