Dollar General To Open New Stores
By George Anderson
Dollar General will open two new locations in Louisiana this Saturday, bringing the chain’s total store count to 6,706, reports The Advertiser.
The company plans to open at least 675 stores this year.
The two stores, one in Lafayette and the other in Scott, will be slightly larger than the typical 6,750 square-foot Dollar General unit.
A spokesperson for Dollar General, Andrea Ewin Turner, said, “Both of these stores are 7,550 square feet and both will employ about 10 people.”
Ms. Turner said the new stores will stock more than 2,500 items priced from $1 to $25.
