Coca-Cola to Distribute Evian in North America

Coca-Cola Co. and Groupe Danone have signed an agreement under which Coke will distribute the French food group’s Evian bottled water in North America. Coke will handle the marketing, sales and distribution of Evian mineral water in U.S. and Canada.

Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc., Coke’s bottling arm, currently distributes more than 50 percent of Evian water in the U.S. market. However, Coke and PepsiCo Inc. remaining dominant players in the U.S. bottled water market with brands of their own, prompted Danone to re-appraise Evian’s distribution.
