Aussies Choose Anything But Plastic

Fifty-three percent of Australian shoppers say they “are likely to refuse plastic bags offered at the supermarket”, according to a Newspoll survey.
According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the government has given retailers until this month “to come up with a long-term plan to reduce plastic bag pollution, including a possible levy.”
Moderator’s Comment: Do retailers in the US need to
be more actively involved in environmental issues than they are currently?
The paper versus plastic issue is only one of the many
environmental issues that retailers deal with on a daily basis.
