Albertsons to Sell Fair Trade Coffee

Albertsons Supermarkets will sell Fair Trade Certified coffee in its 140 stores in Oregon and Washington.
The retailer will offer four coffees (Organic Breakfast Blend, Organic French Roast, Organic Mind Body and Soul blend, and Organic Decaf) from Equal Exchange, according to a press release from the manufacturer.
According to the release, “The four coffees are being added as part of Albertsons’ overhaul of their stores’ coffee sections. This coffee section reset is designed to create a selection of products that better meet changing consumer preferences. The decision to add fair trade coffees in general, and Equal Exchange coffees in particular, was prompted by letters sent to Albertsons during their recent ‘Dear Albertsons’ marketing campaign which invited shoppers to write in with product requests.”
