ABC News Places Blame For Obesity Epidemic

Grocery manufacturers, retailers and others involved in the food industry — get ready to deal with the brouhaha that comes out of next Monday’s ABC News broadcast: “Peter Jennings
Reporting – How To Get Fat Without Really Trying” at 8:00 EST.

An ABC News release contains the following statement attributed to Mr. Jennings.

“Obesity is fast becoming the largest public health crisis in America. The simple answer is to tell people to just eat less and exercise more. What few people know is how much
of the problem with the American diet is a direct result of federal government policy and food industry practices.”

Moderator’s Comment: What is your take on the obesity epidemic and the responsibility, if any, of the grocery manufacturers, retailers and food service
operators to get and keep it under control?

Peter Jennings is right. The simple answer is to tell people to eat less and move more.
