A Drink A Day Keeps the Doctor Away

By George Anderson

A new study says that drinking alcohol beverages on a regular basis can prevent heart attacks.

An Associated Press article reported, “As little as half a drink every other day is enough to reduce the risk, regardless of whether it is beer, red wine, white wine or liquor, the study indicates.”

Dr. Kenneth Mukamal of Harvard University Medical School, who led the study, told the AP that moderate drinking helps keep a person’s blood thinned and, in turn, may reduce the chance of a coronary.
