Bed, Bath & Beyond tidies its ‘mess’

Neil Saunders, managing director of GlobalData Retail and a RetailWire BrainTrust panelist, characterized Bed, Bath & Beyond’s assortment as a “hodge-podge of product” and “devoid of inspiration” in an email to CNBC last year. However, the retailer was at the time already on a course to institute a “show more, carry less” approach in stores, and in customer surveys toward the end of last year, customers seemed to appreciate the less cluttered selection.
