Nelson Peltz’s Trian Partners hedge fund has taken a stake in Unilever. Mr. Peltz is known for pushing companies to make operational changes to boost short-term returns on his holdings. He previously was named to the board of directors at Procter & Gamble after an extended proxy fight with the company.
