Snapchat to debut Spectacles
September 26, 2016
Snapchat,. which is changing its company name to Snap, Inc., plans to launch a limited-edition line of sunglasses known as Spectacles that will not only protect wearers from glare, but also allow them to record videos. The new glasses, which will retail for around $130, will face some headwinds as they go on the market. The first is whether people will find the video function creepy as they did with Google Glass. The second is whether they will want video glasses when they can record just fine right now with their smartphones.
