Sears Canada executive chairman wants to acquire bankrupt chain

Brandon Stanzl, executive chairman of Sears Canada, is stepping away from his day-to-day duties on the company’s board as he leads an effort to acquire the struggling department store chain. Sears Canada announced it would restructure under Canada’s equivalent of Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in June.
