Southeastern Grocers, which owns Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie, and Tops Markets have recently filed for bankruptcy. The two regional supermarket chain operators are operating in an increasingly competitive market fueled by Amazon.com’s push into grocery and the response from large operators including Kroger and Walmart.
