Ratings agency names retailers most likely to default

Fitch Ratings has named seven retail chain operators at high risk of defaulting within a year including 99 Cents Only Stores, Claire’s, Nebraska Book, Nine West Holdings, Rue21, Sears Holdings and True Religion. The credit ratings firm pointed to a decline in mall traffic and other changes in consumer shopping behavior as significant factors contributing to the struggles of the companies it named as well as others in the space.
