Millennial moms account for 45 percent of J.C. Penney’s sales revenues, according to Pew Research. The chain, whose average customer is 51, according to Kantar Retail, has been attracting new, younger shoppers with Sephora shops inside its stores and new private brands such as Belle & Sky.
