Get involved and reap the benefits!

2 Minute Tutorial: Using RetailWire

1. Come to www.retailwire.com as often as you can.
New Discussion topics are posted each business morning and commentary from our BrainTrust experts and regular website members are added continually.

2. Log in the first time with your "Handle" and Password.
Upon clicking on an article for the first time, you'll be prompted to register. You'll choose your own Handle (user ID) and password. Once you log in for the first time, the system will remember your login information, so you should not have to re-enter it each time you return from the same computer. If on occasion you are asked and forget your login info, just click the "Forget your handle or password?" link directly below the Login button and we'll instantly email them to you.

3. Choose a Discussion topic on the home page.
You'll see the latest Discussions at the top of the list on our home page, and about 10 days of prior Discussion topics below. The number to the right of each title indicates how many comments have been made within the Discussion; the Hot Issue link in the third column will call up a list of previous Discussions dealing with that subject. Click on the title of any Discussion to enter the page. Return to the main listing at any time by clicking the Discussions tab at the top of the page.

4. Read the news capsule and Discussion questions.
We keep our articles short so that you can quickly brief yourself on issues and trends. Discussion topics are written by our own editors, our BrainTrust panelists and contributed by retail trade publications and other knowledgable sources.

5. Take the Instant Poll.
Before you read the opinions of our BrainTrust, take the opinion poll. After entering your choice, you'll see instant results of all voting to date.

6. Read the comments from our BrainTrust panel and your fellow members.
You'll see commentary from our own cadre of over 100 retailing experts, plus your colleagues and counterparts throughout the retailing community.

7. Send YOUR comments.
You've GOT TO GIVE THIS A TRY! RetailWire can't be fully enjoyed unless you contribute your opinions and advice. Just click the big, blue "SEND YOUR COMMENTS" button at the bottom of the Discussion thread. Comments will be reviewed and online within hours. Note: Only your Handle will be displayed on your comment, unless you give us permission when making your choices on the comment submission form.

8. IMPORTANT: Visit the "TIPS."
Click the TIPS tab at the top of any page to find terrific information and advice on how to build your business and stay ahead of your competition. We work hard to bring you substantive content on behalf of our sponsors. Thank them for keeping RetailWire free for all...visit these resources OFTEN!

9. Come back every day! (Did we already say that?)
...because you never know what the discussion will be on RetailWire. And if you've left comments, it's very possible that one of our experts may have a response for you.

10. Explore the rest of RetailWire.
Easiest way to do this is by clicking through the tabs on the top of each page and the links on the top right side. You'll find opportunities to sign up for free online seminars (WEBINARS), great resources in our STORE and access to industry experts on our BRAINTRUST page.

11. Send us suggestions.
RetailWire will evolve and improve based on your feedback. Drop us a line, any time at info@retailwire.com

We've done our best to design RetailWire to be easy to use, but if you're here...it probably means you're having trouble. Here are some...

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I'm using the correct "Handle" and Password to log in, but I am returned to the login screen. What's going on?

A: This problem usually indicates a conflict with the "cookies" settings in your browser. We attempt to set a cookie when you log on to store your login information so you don't have to enter it upon return to the site. However, if you have set your preferences to deny acceptance of cookies, you won't be able to enter the site. To correct the problem, check your browser preferences and switch the setting to enable cookies. In Internet Explorer, this is done by going to the Tools menu, then Internet Options. On the Security tab, bring the bar down to a lower level. Or, go to the Advanced tab and click the Restore Defaults button. If you need more specific instructions, write to info@retailwire.com with the browser version (e.g. Explorer 4.5 for Windows) that you are using.

Q: I can't remember my "Handle" or my password. Can you send it to me?

A: Sure...just click the link directly below the password box and enter your email address. You'll get your handle and password back immediately via email. IMPORTANT: You must use the email address you registered with. If you need to get your information now, click here . Not working, write to info@retailwire.com and request your password.

Q: I'd like to leave a comment, but I'd prefer to remain anonymous?

A: No problem. When you submit your comment, leave the first button with the selection "I WOULD LIKE TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS: Display my "handle" only." If your Handle is too revealing of your identity, click on the "Edit your Profile" link at the top of any page. You can choose a different Handle.

Q: Some of my profile information (title, company, etc.) is wrong or has changed. Can I fix it?

A: After you log in, you'll see an "Edit your Profile" link at the top right of each page. On that page, you'll be able to make any changes.
