Colorado mall bucks the trend with record growth

The Southlands Mall in Aurora, CO refutes the notion that malls are going the way of the dodo bird. The shopping center, which will celebrate its tenth anniversary next month, said tenants posted their highest sales ever in the past year. A five-mile area around the mall saw its population increase 36 percent between 2009 and 2015.
